Pre + Action= Practice

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Most of us all desire to become good or great in at least one area of our life. Some people may desire to become great in many areas of their lives. Regardless of your natural skill level or your inherent ability to perform in your gifted field. Practicing gives you the confidence, mental clarity, and edge to make yourself victorious. It’s all mental! Practicing means Pre-Action, it’s the preparation of taking action, by taking action.

It’s your preparation before it’s time to take action that gives you the advantage. Pre-Action allows you to rehearse your steps, time your moves and fine tune your presentations. Sure you can try and wing it, but you are not giving yourself the best opportunity to be as successful. Confidence comes by doing. With whatever you are pursing become familiar with it’s process, by doing it over and over again.

Get the Kinks out!

Through repetition (practicing) and by applying concentrated energy you will get all of your kinks out! An iron works the same way! Concentrated heat applied to garments gets the wrinkles out. Whatever your profession spend some time and work on your craft, and sharpen your skills. Does a play get to Broadway without first practicing and rehearsing? Is an effective speech ever made without the speaker first knowing the highs and lows of their conversation with the audience? Practice to become great, you can’t wing greatness!

Most people do not like to spend time practicing because they view it as “non compensated work”. That type of thought process will never render you, your best results. With any person that has accomplished a great deal, practicing has been their little kept secret! Any great speech, play, movie, and song, has first been prepared and practiced before delivered and heart felt by the masses. Once your pre-action is down packed, the rest is a walk in the park.
