Fortunately or unfortunately I have some personal experience with this topic. Sometimes it's really good stuff that I was doing. We can't do our best or have the same level of passion if we don't understand our unique role. Some things just fit and some things just don't. Take your pick - it's that easy. Either you have the discipline to shut these people out, and be the master of your time, or you don't. Sure, there are things in life called obligations (taxes, maybe a full-time job) but there is ALWAYS a way to find an empowering meaning. Always. The only reason you're settling in your life is because you WANT to. The action is too painful, the benefits of empowerment aren't clear enough to you, it's easier to stay where you are. If you don’t fill your time with empowering, meaningful activities, someone else will fill your life with THEIR meaningful and empowering activities. Take your pick - it’s that easy. Either you have the discipline to shut these people out, and be the master of your time, or you don’t.
